11.5 L x 7.5” W x 3/4” Thick
(10 – 13’ L x 5 – 10” W x 3/4” Thick)
– Taken from one of the iconic NYC water towers
– We had the wood professionally rough cut into 3/4” planks
– Still needs to be planed if you desire
– Perfect for hardwood floor, accent walls, exterior house paneling, shelving, bench, barrels, ceiling planks, and whatever else your creative heart desires
EXTREMELY RARE FIND!
I went to a few local reclaimed wood lumber yards and they either haven’t heard of redwood, didn’t have any, or had very limited quantity and size.
So why is this rare? Well first it’s because God doesn’t make them anymore! It’s almost impossible to find real antique reclaimed Redwood because they are almost extinct and is on the endangered species list. Especially in the large quantity that we have available. It’s illegal to cut down any old existing Redwood trees. Secondly, our wood was just recently taken down from a NYC high rise building (see pics for reference)
So why is Redwood so special? It is extremely durable and posses gorgeous grain lines. It’s so durable and solid that NYC used to build there high rise water towers with it 100’s of years ago. And many of those towers are still standing today and are functional!
