  • Huichol Beaded Figurine Mexican Art Conch Seashell Handmade Indigenous Sculpture
Huichol Mexican Indian folk art is truly unique and all handmade by the indigenous people of the Sierra Madre mountains in Jalisco, Mexico.
Using the traditional Huichol technique of pressing Campeche wax onto the outside of this spider conch sea shell and adding, one-by-one, glass beads this sculpture depicts the offering message to the Huichol Gods.  Absolutely gorgeous graduated ocean colors of royal blue, black, green, white and platinum silver pearl colors.  We love how the artist created large Peyote “eyes” on the front.
Using varying bright, multi-colored, glass beads the symbols are added for offerings to the Gods.
It takes the Huichol Indians hours and hours, days and days, of work to complete one piece.
Some of the symbols used in this art piece include the Peyote flower, honored by the Shaman leaders for giving influence to the gods, by communication with ancestors, for messages about the Huichol future crops, rain and healing of the people.  God’s Eyes for protection of the children, and a row of the coveted and ultimate Messenger to the God’s, the blue deer.
This spider shell is outlined with graduated blue color glass beads symbolizing water, rain, the Pacific Ocean and femininity.
Note:  Since this is a real and natural seashell it is not perfect in size but it is absolutely gorgeous.
    Measurements:
    Length: Longest Length: 7.25″
    Width: Side to Side:  5.25″
    Height: 2.9″
This is a gorgeous gift for a birthday, an engagement, a wedding or an anniversary.  Excellent gift for someone that loves the ocean or the beach.
