  • Catrina Groom Huichol Beaded Art Figurine Day of Dead Mexican Folk Art Catrin
Huichol Mexican Indian folk art is truly unique and all handmade by the indigenous Indian people of the Sierra Madre mountains in Jalisco, Mexico.
Absolutely handsome, authentic, elegant black pearl color and black color theme glass beaded, Day of the Dead, Catrina Groom (Catrin) clay figurine.  Using the traditional Huichol techniques of pressing Campeche wax onto this sculpture and adding, one-by-one, glass beads this Day of the Dead Catrina groom depicts the offering message to the Huichol Gods.  Beautiful
    haute couture
colors.  His matching bride is beautiful, too.
Dressed in a striking tuxedo with pearl color beaded accents, this Catrin portrays a proud and elegant pose.
His traditional style jacket has black pearl on black color Corn symbol sleeves to nourish his future family.  On the front, a black pearl beaded Rain symbol is supported by two Messenger Deers for communication with the Huichol Gods.
On the back of his coat, the feared and honored scorpion protects him and his future family from evil spirits.  Within the scorpion, three God’s Eye symbols protect his future children.
His pant legs have big Peyote flowers.  Peyote is the symbol for the Shaman leader’s visions during their ceremonies for the future of the people.
His tuxedo shoes are embellished with sparkly black beads and black pearl beaded outlines for dancing at his wedding.
His head swivels from side to side for different poses and is detachable.
We love his Day of the Dead face and his black tuxedo top hat with black pearl beaded stripes, Prayer Arrows and a Peyote flower.
The symbols used on her tuxedo make him seem as if he is preparing for his special day in a most elegant way.  Gorgeous!  See the matching bride in our ebay store.
